Getting Active with Art
We give children the chance to experience art beyond the traditional ideas of sitting at a table to draw or paint.
Our sessions take children out of the more static classroom environment and explore movement and creativity.
We introduce them to a variety of techniques and styles which combine art and physical activity with a fun and supportive learning environment.
While our focus is on having fun making art, each of our sessions also aims to:
-
Encourage children to produce creative and experimental artwork.
-
Link in and introduce great artist's works.
-
Use a variety of medias and materials.
-
Learn how to use different techniques and work in different styles.
-
Work collaboratively and communicate well as a team.
-
Develop movement skills; agility, coordination and balance.
All of the above can be directly linked to the National Curriculum objectives for Art and Design and Physical Education.
